All My Love Poems Are Apologies
|
We were watching Harry Potter and I had to ruin it by talking about the future. I’m sorry. I didn't realize that Harry Potter was supposed to be the future. I want to home invade your heart. Pretend I've been stranded by the side of the road then force my way inside your deepest chambers. I wish that everything that caused you pain could be surgically removable. I'd stanch your wounds with my tongue, lick the blood from the back of your throat, clotted thick as jam. You asked me why I loved the ocean once I said because you can kill yourself just by walking into it. |

People this beautiful will either die young or never. I stopped driving ten years ago because I didn't want anyone to die. I kept hitting parked cars and thinking someday they'd be humans. Everyone has promised to teach me how to ride a bike. Only one man actually tried. I got angry with him because I kept falling. He left, but I still have his shoes. |
